Door replacement & weatherproofing

CT Building Maintenance replaced a damaged external door at a commercial building, adding steel reinforcement, a new canopy and improved weather sealing so the entry is secure and better protected from the elements.

Project scope

  • Door: Removal of the damaged door and supply of a new replacement door
  • Hardware: Original door hardware reinstalled where suitable
  • Protection: Steel reinforcement, new canopy above the doorway and new bottom weather strip
  • Finish: Primer plus two coats of Dulux Weathershield to the door and frame

What we did

  1. Removal: Removed the existing damaged door.
  2. Measure, cut and fit: Measured, cut and fitted the new replacement door, reinstalling the original hardware where it was suitable.
  3. Reinforcement and canopy: Installed steel reinforcement as required and fitted a new canopy above the doorway for added weather protection.
  4. Weather sealing: Reinstated the existing windbreak and fitted a new weather strip to the bottom of the door.
  5. Painting: Prepared and primed the new door and frame, then applied two coats of Dulux Weathershield for a durable exterior finish.

The result

A secure, properly sealed entry door with a durable painted finish and a canopy that keeps weather away from the doorway, reducing the chance of water ingress and future damage.
